PortCall automatically updates vessel information from Lloyds as well as allows users to manually update data. Depending on your instance’s settings, PortCall checks Lloyds for new information on a portcall submission. This will update the information for that vessel record across the site.
If you want to preserve any old names for historical purposes, use the following steps:
- Unlink the Lloyds record from the existing vessel profile.
- Go to the Vessel Profile.
- Click Edit Sources
- In the Lloyds Search section, click None.
- Then click Link.
- Archive the old vessel record.
- On the Vessel Profile, copy the IMO number from the first column.
- Paste it into the override column.
- Type “-ex” at the end of the number (e.g. 123456789-ex)
Now you can go to Add PortCall and run through the steps for “Can’t find the right vessel?”. When you enter the IMO number, the new vessel name will come up directly from Lloyds.
